Dr. Meleine Martinez-Sosa
Board certified, fellowship-trained adult and pediatric neurological surgeon.
She completed her undergraduate studies at Columbia University in the City of New York. She then worked in oncologic research for the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Martinez-Sosa received an academic merit scholarship to the University of Michigan Medical School where she earned her medical degree. She continued her education at the University of South Florida where she completed a residency in Neurological Surgery. Her interest in pediatric neurosurgery was fueled by caring for children with complex brain and spine illnesses and their resilience continues to drive her to this day. Her academic training culminated with a Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellowship under the tutelage of Dr. George Jallo at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. During this fellowship, she perfected her skills in pediatric brain and spine surgery. During residency and fellowship, she also focused on gaining expertise caring for pediatric and adult patients with intramedullary spinal cord tumors who came from all over the world to the institution searching for state-of-the-art care in the forefront of medical science in the care for these tumors. After graduating fellowship, she joined Advanced Neurosurgery Associates in 2021. Areas of interest include brain tumors, intramedullary spinal cord tumors, pituitary tumors, spina bifida, spasticity, and epilepsy.
