Jennifer Battiato joined Advanced Neurosurgery Associates in June of 2013. However, she has been actively involved with the practice since 2011 while working as a Physician Assistant for the Department of Surgery at St. Peter’s University Hospital.

 

Battiato is a graduate of the Department of Neuroscience at The University of Delaware, where she completed three years of research in neuroscience. While completing her Master’s of Science as a Physician Assistant, she served as a teaching assistant for neuroscience classes for the Physician Assistant Program at Seton Hall University. Battiato enhanced her knowledge base and clinical experience as a medical assistant in an orthopedic spine practice while completing her physician assistant training. For seven years, she worked as a Surgical Physician Assistant at St. Peter’s University Hospital where she managed critically ill surgical patients in a vast number of surgical specialties, including surgical oncology and neurosurgery.

 

She is a member of the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the American Academy of Surgical Physician Assistants. She is the recipient of nearly a dozen awards and honors in the academic and medical field, and the author of two significant research publications.

 

Battiato continues to teach physician assistant students and prospective students. She has also provided educational programs for medical staff for the pediatric and adult intensive care units on the management of neurosurgical patients.
