In the letter below, Dr. Fried receives official congratulations:

I am proud to announce that the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital is once again the only children’s hospital in New Jersey to be ranked in Neurology & Neurosurgery in U.S. News & World Report’s 2014-15 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings. Ranked 44th in the nation, it was the first hospital in New Jersey to be ranked in any Best Children’s Hospitals specialty.

The rankings recognize the 50 best-performing hospitals in 10 pediatric specialties. This year marked changes in the methodology. The changes included evaluating outcomes, best practices and infection prevention. As in past years, 150 physicians were surveyed in each of 10 pediatric specialties.

I congratulate Dr. Jeffrey R. Boscamp, HackensackUMC vice president and chief academic officer and chairman and physician-in-chief of the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital; Maureen Keating, vice president of the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital; Dr. Arno Fried, chairman and director of the Neuroscience Institute; Dr. Stephen Thompson, chief of Pediatric Neurology; and our entire team for collectively demonstrating the skill and dedication required of a national healthcare leader. We will continue to provide world-class treatment and the most compassionate care for our pediatric patients.
